    Grooming, Planning, and Working. Different views are needed based on questions we are pursuing. Sometime I am planning longer term, sometimes in depth, sometimes just a comment, etc. Get To Done® offers multiple views so that you can rapidly orient and decide how to spend your energy.

              Managing the work gets easier when you conceptualize larger things that get broken down into smaller things. Teams are encouraged to swarm on one Story at a time until done. Smaller items build up into larger things which accumulate into desired results (releases and products).

                Parallels to Physical Cards

                The Get To Done system was made to simulate physical cards on a wall as closely as possible. The board structure itself is identical to our physical board kits. Similar to the physical world, cards are moved along the board by picking them up and moving them, or “drag and drop”.

                  Sprint Planning

                  Use agreement-based planning for sprint planning. The team determines the Stories they agree to do in the next sprint. The team commits to a sprint goal.

                    Repeatable Work Criteria

                    Storyotyping is a standard way for understanding repeatable work criteria and associating that criteria to the fundamental unit for focusing effort, a story. With storyotyping we can capture proprietary methods, comply with external high ceremony process constraints, deal with regulatory pressure, reduce ‘hit by the bus’ knowledge dependencies and more. Storyotyping allows us to directly manage the line between adaptive and predictive planning.

The tool provides reporting and historical information but, does not put that information front and center in your teams view.
